I finally caught Alice this past weekend on SciFi (I defy the name change!) and I LOVED it. If it was out on DVD now I'd ask for it for Christmas and if I get a gift card for Christmas, I may save it until I can buy Alice with it.

And since I loved it so much I changed my entire LJ theme to accommodate my new header. Plus, I have icons to share!

I believe I have a few cosplayers on my f-list. Can you help a jigga out?

For immediate future cons, I want to cosplay as Shotaro from Kamen Rider Double. He wears the S-style outfit shown on this page. I'd also have to splurge $100 for the Double Driver transformation belt, of course. Now, if I were to buy all those clothes from that site (not bothering with the coat or accessories, and I already have a belt) along with the Double Driver, it would cost me close to $1000 before shipping, which is f'ing ridiculous. I want alternatives, which I would imagine is easy to do for relatively cheap... if you're used to clothes shopping, which I've never in my life paid attention to beyond running to Target to buy random stuff when what I have starts wearing out. So, options? Any places online you guys like to browse for clothing? Or am I just going to have to buckle down, go to the nearest mall, and spend hours browsing on my own?

There's no real rush on this. I would've liked to have gone in this outfit to MAGfest, but that's in two weeks, and there's no way the Double Driver would make it out here by then. So for now I'll just get this outfit ready for Otakon (and Power Morphicon), which means I've got till July 30, 2010 to get it set.

EDIT: Apologies to everyone for asking for help and then ignoring any responses... cause I kind of just left the house, went to the mall, and browsed until I found stuff. XD I've got the black jeans, striped shirt, black tie, and black vest already. I'm about to head back out to find a suitable coat and hat (K&G didn't have the style coat I wanted, and the one suitable variation on proper hat colors was $40, which was way too much IMO). I'm also gonna order the Double Driver right now in hopes it'll arrive within two weeks, but even if it doesn't, I'll cosplay as Shotaro at MAGfest anyways.

On the way to the bus stop today some guy leaned out the window of his car to yell "bitch!" at me in an exceptionally vehement tone of voice. Now, I have my bitchy moments, but I generally keep them to myself (or rants on LJ and AIM) and since I've never seen this man before in my life and was minding my own business walking down the street I have no idea why he felt the need to be rude to me.

On the upside though, my first reaction was to pray for him, so I'd say I'm growing as a person. Also, I got my father yet another lame present in the long line of lame presents I've bought him over the years (this one is a space heater for when he's working downstairs or in his work shed).

Got so behind in everything last week, I figured I'd just combine two weeks of reviews. Still can't seem to find copies of Aaron Stone 20 and 21 anywhere though. On the other hand, HIROSHI MIYAUCHI (KAMEN RIDER V3/AORANGER IN GORANGER/BIG ONE IN JAKQ) returning in Spider-man toku 39 made up for the lack.

Oh, and so hey. You know the hilariously ironic part about Shinkenger? How we first thought the girls would get shafted when it came to Elvis Mode. And they did, to an extent; they were the last to wear it for their first time (especially poor Kotoha). But now, with only 8 or so episodes left in the show, not only have they caught up, but it just hit me that the only person who hasn't gotten a chance to wear it at least twice is CHIAKI. I'm seriously lol'ing here.

Also, I saw terrierlee's post a few days ago being surprised as she realized that Rin Asuka both plays Wakana Sonozaki in Kamen Rider Double and previously played Akira Karasaki in Keitai Sousakan 7 (the daughter of the president of Net Guardian who quit school because she was smarter than all of them and they were boring, and later befriended Keita and forced her cellphone number on him cause she didn't have any friends), but it didn't really hit me until right before I made this post and thought back to her face, and I was like "HOLY CRAP IT IS HER!" XD

Additionally, Igadevil has his spoiler-filled review of the Double/Decade movie up. So for those of you who want the backstory on Begins Night and the... frontstory? on what happens in Decade post-ep 31, but don't want to wait for English subs 8 months from now, get to clicking. It might be an especially good idea since, based on the title of next week's ep, I think the Begins Night stuff is going to start tying in to the show pretty quickly.

And of course, I'm pretty damn pissed at the news that CW4Kids is cancelling Dragon Knight at episode 38, screwing us all out of the final two eps. On the other hand, Steve Wang claims they'll put them on their website. We should see ep 39 for sure on Dec. 26 (the same day ep 38 airs on TV), but I'm not sure if 40 will be uploaded that day or not.

And finally, R.P.M. STARTS AIRING AGAIN NEXT WEEK! And then ends for good the week immediately after that. D: (lol, both R.P.M. and KRDK are ending on the 26th; that's gonna be one honking huge review post, probably like this one)

So, church went well. It was all women in Sunday school, which was nice, and my mom and I spent the in between time reading in the car, because the car was warm and we both love the books we're reading. As a result we were late and had to sneak in and sit on the far right side of the sanctuary, at the end of the aisle (we usually sit in the middle so that people can come in next to us if they're late).

That was actually really good because about ten minutes into worship an usher came and told my mom that she was needed because my little brother had hit his head. Five minutes later, someone else came to tell me that I was leaving. Turns out the boy fell on the steps and landed hard on concrete. Luckily, he hit his head after the initial fall so his knees/wrists took most of the beating. He was pale and shaking and couldn't walk well at all so we went to the ER. There we discovered that he was also cold, which is scary since he has always been warm.

He's fine. He didn't have a concussion, just a pseudo-concussion (that has a name I can't remember) and needed stitches. He's talking again too, so that's nice. Before he was just sort of muttering and nodding. And he's not pale or shaking. He still has trouble walking, but he's much, much better.

Oh! And the guy who did our billing got us a reduced price AND he even discounted our price from last month when my brother was in for his really bad nosebleed/throwing up blood. So yay!
